Mukti Society

Mukti Society is a Surrey-based charity dedicated to providing inclusive, accessible services to those facing challenges related to mental health, substance use and criminal justice involvement with a focus on serving vulnerable youth and those from the Indo-Canadian community.

Our Founder

Mukti Society was founded in late 2021 by Kam Singh. Singh has struggled with mental health and addiction for the majority of his life. The 43-year-old left the criminal lifestyle and entered recovery more than five years ago, and has spent years working as a Substance Use Counsellor at several Surrey recovery and supportive housing organizations. He has done inspirational talks to local youth, and is a passionate advocate for breaking cultural stigmas surrounding substance use and mental health in the Indo-Canadian community.
